Old Man of Storr (An Stór) Isle of Skye - Original Etching 10/35
An original etching, hand-inked and printed on an antique etching press in my small studio in the Scottish Highlands. A mini print at just 65mm x 65mm, there are lots of intricate details and tiny marks that were hand drawn onto a metal plate using a fine needle before etching.
The Old Man of Storr is a dramatic formation located on the Trotternish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, near Portree. Huge pinnacles of dark rock stretch upwards from the earth, creating a mystical atmosphere.
The print is titled An Stór, which is the traditional Scottish Gaelic name for The Storr.
Created as part of a small limited edition, each etching is hand-inked and hand-wiped. This process means that there are slight variations, making each print a unique piece of art. You can see the emboss around the edges where the metal plate pressed into the cotton-based paper with the pressure of the press.
Mounted and ready to frame. Supplied in a clear cellophane wrap with a branded sticker on the front and details of the process on the reverse.
Image size - 65mm x 65mm approx
Mount size - 8” x 8”
