Internal Family Systems & Hypnotherapy Online

I am a transpersonal psychologist, IFS practitioner, hypnotherapist, and visual artist with a deep interest in the expansive nature of creativity and imagination. In our online sessions, my aim is for our exploration to be a gentle, participatory process. An integrative and holistic approach informs my practice. I weave techniques from multiple therapeutic modalities to tend to mind, body and soul. I view my role as a guide and facilitator, helping you to access your innate wisdom and revealing new pathways to transformation.

My qualifications include an MSc in Transpersonal Psychology, a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Level 1 Internal Family Systems Therapy with IFS UK. As a lifelong learner, I am passionate about continued professional development and invest in ongoing training and specialist certification. I am fully insured and an accredited member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).

Benefits of online hypnotherapy

Recent research has shown that online therapy is as effective as in-person sessions. This means you can access the same therapeutic benefits and positive outcomes.

Online hypnotherapy offers many additional advantages, including -

  • Comfort & Ease In Your Own Home
    Online hypnotherapy in the comfort of your own home means that you can have everything just as you like it. Many people choose to lie on the sofa with a cosy blanket, sit in their favourite chair, or even lie on a bed. Being fully relaxed in your own environment means that it can be easier to access a relaxed hypnotic state. Online hypnotherapy can be especially helpful if you are anxious or might feel vulnerable in a new place.

  • Time & Cost Effective
    Travelling to a hypnotherapist’s office involves more time plus the cost of fuel or public transport. If you already have a good internet connection and are happy to use Zoom, Skype (or another online video meeting platform), the only cost to you is your online hypnotherapy appointment. The time required is simply the duration of your online appointment, so you can plan your day more easily.

  • Convenience & Flexibility
    Simply book and pay using the online booking system. A Zoom link will be sent in advance of your appointment and you will also get a reminder. If you need to change the day or time of your online hypnotherapy session, you can do this simply by using the booking calendar or emailing me (24 hours’ notice is required).

  • Space For Integration
    Following any therapy session, it can be valuable to have some extra quiet time. I believe that this is especially valuable with hypnotherapy because it allows you to integrate the experience and enjoy the positive, relaxing feelings. With face-to-face hypnosis, leaving an office and entering a busy environment can be overwhelming for some people. In contrast, with online hypnotherapy, when the session ends you are in an environment of your choice. You can simply log off with a click of a button and take as much time as you need to process the session.

  • Privacy
    With online hypnotherapy, you can enjoy private sessions without any concern that you might unexpectedly bump into someone you know on the way to the appointment, or in the hypnotherapist’s waiting room. An online hypnotherapy session is subject to all the same confidentiality rules as an in-person session.

  • Reassurance
    You can research a range of hypnotherapists online, and check their qualifications in advance. You can also make sure that the therapist you choose is registered with a professional body, like the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) or National Hypnotherapy Register (NHR). Since ‘hypnotherapist’ is not a protected title, it is especially important to ensure they have completed training that is accredited to National Occupational Standards and are insured to practice online hypnotherapy.

    It’s important to note that there are some situations in which online hypnotherapy is less suitable. If you struggle to find quiet, private space this could mean that there are too many distractions to conduct hypnosis effectively over Zoom. If you require additional support or counselling, face-to-face sessions in another therapeutic modality may be more suitable. Hypnotherapy (either online or face-to-face) is not advised for individuals with certain medical diagnoses. For online hypnotherapy you will need a device with a large screen such as a desktop computer, laptop, or large tablet/iPad - hypnosis using a smartphone is not recommended.
